No Guts, No Glory

My sweet Rylee.
This is her....SOOO her!

Thursday at her track meet, she was running the 100m dash.  She had just taken off when her ankle rolled and she felt a snap in her foot.  The runner next to her heard it.  But she finished her race (not her best time-- in case you were wondering).

We went to the ER for an X-Ray.

Her foot is broken.  Jones fracture.  At the ER they put her in a temporary splint and had us see the Orthopaedist the following day.

The Ortho removed the splint and put her in an immobilizer boot.  We go back in a few weeks for more
X-Rays.

Her biggest concern?  How will she get her skinny jeans on????
(Oh My!)

She is not happy about her newfound immobility...

....But was super excited when we had to go to Wal*Mart

Get well soon, Sweetie!  We need you back to your colorful self!

Clarity Part 2

The day after my post on Clarity, I got it.  Loud and clear.  And it was painful.  More painful than I expected, imagined, or dreamed it would be.  While I am thankful that the decision is clear, I am not so thankful for the pain and tears that have come with it.  This has been a rough week for me.
I know that the outcome is what is meant to be, but that doesn't make it any easier.
I actually feel like I am going through the stages of grief.  But no one died.
Just a dream.
So I am picking up the pieces and trying to move on.
I know that brighter days are ahead.

Peace.

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday

Holy Canoli--it's already Wednesday again!  The past 7 days have gone by really fast!

Here are my loves this week:

Have ya'll seen this show?  It is SO good!  It's about a bunch of doctors who work at a medical clinic in the middle of the jungle.  The show isn't full of a bunch of hotties like Grey's Anatomy, but it has a couple.  It is from the same creator as Grey's & Private Practice, and I love it!

Wireless printing!  Ok, so for some of you this may not be a new thing, but in our house it is!  I LOVE wireless printing!  When I can print from my laptop on the couch and not even have to get up to turn on the printer....well, that is SOOO my style!  Now if I can just figure out how to get the printed document in my hand without me having to get off of said couch and retrieve it from the printer!

This guy.  Him.  Right here.  He is the BEST husband in the entire world.  He is so good to me--always.  No matter what.  He puts up with me, my moods, my silliness, my quirks and idiosyncracies and loves me in spite of it all.  Unconditionally and irrevocably.  He supports me no matter what I do.  He is my very best friend in the whole world.  When no one else is there, he ALWAYS is--no questions asked.  I don't deserve him, but I sure am thankful for him.

Clarity

Today my heart is so heavy.  I can't go into a lot of specifics, but oh, the tears--they are a-flowin'.
And they won't stop.
It is one of those situations where you just need to know.
What is right?  What is fair?  What will the outcome be?
It's about decisions.  If you have ever met me, you know I am the world's WORST decision maker.
And this is more than a decision.
It could be life changing.  For better or worse.

Tyson keeps telling me to stop worrying and just give it up to God.
I am trying to do that.  Really, I am.
But I am not a patient person, and I need clarity a lot faster than it is coming.
I know it's not all about me, and that sometimes God's plan is different from our own.

I just wish I knew what to do---Besides sit around and cry all day.
Please give me clarity.  Soon.

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday!

Howdy folks!  I almost forgot that it is Wednesday!  I would truly hate to disappoint anyone by not posting my

WHAT I'M LOVIN' WEDNESDAY!!

Daffodils are blooming all over our yard!  While I must say, they aren't really my favorite flower, I sure am happy to see them sprouting up and adding some color outside!  Tyson picked a bunch of them and put them in a vase on our dining room table.  They are super pretty to look at, but I gotta tell ya, they kinda stink!

So I started going to Zumba again after a 5 month hiatus for foot surgery.  I truly love this class!  I will admit, I am THE SINGLE MOST uncoordinated person in the class, but I can still get my sweat on!  I tried Zumba for the Wii a few weeks ago, and I wasn't all that crazy about it.  Maybe I just like the accountability of being in the class with other people.

If you have not tried the new Philly Cooking Creme, RUN--don't walk to your nearest grocery store and purchase some STAT!!!  Who knew heaven came in a little bucket?  This stuff is sooooo good (ok, maybe it cancels out the Zumba class.  But if I eat Philly then go to Zumba the next day, it's all good, right?)  I have tried all 3 flavors and cannot choose a favorite!  They are delish!!!

What are YOU lovin' this week?

Spring Break

The kiddos have been out of school all week for Spring Break.
I LOVE when they are on break!  I love having both kids home all day.
The past few years we have gone away for Spring Break, but decided this year to save the money for our adoption.

This week has been a bit challenging since we have been busy with track practices, tutoring, and a fundraiser night.  Not to mention it has only been warm enough to play outside 1 day.  Ugh.

So here are a few highlights from our week!

Playing "Go, Diego, Go" while ziplining the rope

Such a monkey!

Only Evan goes out to play wearing sock monkey PJ's and a pizza hat!

We went to the Children's Museum on Tuesday

Dr. Herrmann & his lovely scrub nurse

Evan spent half the day a few minutes at the train table
Rylee's body impression on the pin wall

Evan is making great strides in swim class!  Just 5 weeks ago he was terrified of the water and cried through the entire class!  This week he jumped off the diving block!  Way to go, buddy!

Today, Rylee had her first volleyball tournament of the season and the girls played great!  I remembered to take my camera, but forgot to take any pics.  FAIL.

Tyson is in Chicago for the weekend, so after all the running we have done all week and being on the go all day today I really just feel like joining these two!

WKIDS News

Video the kids made at the Children's Museum.  I especially love at :44 when Evan says "And the tsunami is really ridiculous.  And I'm not joking."
